Social networking platforms drove man closer to those in neighboring continents, while driving him further apart from those in his neighborhood.
Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Mortals are easily tempted to pinch the life out of their neighbor's buzzing glory, and think that such killing is no murder.
George Eliot
Shortly before school started, I moved into a studio apartment on a quiet street near the bustle of the downtown in one of the most self-conscious bends of the world. The “Gold Coast” was a neighborhood that stretched five blocks along the lake in a sliver of land just south of Lincoln Park and north of River North. The streets were like fine necklaces and strung together were the brownstone houses and tall condominiums and tiny mansions like pearls, and when the day broke and the sun faded away, their lights burned like jewels shining gaudily in the night. The world’s most elegant bazaar, Michigan Avenue, jutted out from its eastern tip near The Drake Hotel and the timeless blue-green waters of Lake Michigan pressed its shores. The fractious make-up of the people that inhabited it, the flat squareness of its parks and the hint of the lake at the ends of its tree-lined streets squeezed together a domesticated cesspool of age and wealth and standing. It was a place one could readily dress up for an expensive dinner at one of the fashionable restaurants or have a drink miles high in the lounge of the looming John Hancock Building and five minutes later be out walking on the beach with pants cuffed and feet in the cool water at the lake’s edge.
Daniel Amory
For example, the citizens will live out the value of diligence in their enterprises. They will live out the value of prudence in their finances. They will live out the value of industry in the economy. They will live out the value of love in their neighbourhood. They will live out the value of dignity of labour in the market place, etc. All these will go a long way into propelling both the economy and political life of a nation to the greatest height possible.
Sunday Adelaja
[It would not be long] ere the whole surface of this country would be channelled for those nerves which are to diffuse, with the speed of thought, a knowledge of all that is occurring throughout the land, making, in fact, one neighborhood of the whole country.
Samuel Morse
To become richer, earn more. To appear richer, move into a poorer neighborhood.
Mokokoma Mokhonoana
The universe is a big place. Maybe we're not in the best neighborhood.
John Scalzi
The more beautiful the sky, the more hopeless the neighborhood.
Andrew Holleran
I believe this; "When you have a needy person in your neighbourhood, it's an opportunity for you to become a wealthy and healthy person!" Giving time is blessing time!

When you are a grown up your brothers become your neighbors and your unconditional brotherhood become your conditional neighborhood.
Amit Kalantri
FORKED BRANCHESWe grew up on the same street,You and me.We went to the same schools,Rode the same bus,Had the same friends,And even shared spaghettiWith each other's families. And though our roots belong toThe same tree,Our branches have grownIn different directions. Our tree,Now resembles a thousandOther treesIn a sea of a trillionOther treesWith parallel destiniesAnd similar dreams. You cannot envy the branchThat grows biggerFrom the same seed,And you cannotBlame it on the sun's direction. But you still compare us,As if we're still those twoKids at the parkSlurping down slushies andEating ice cream. Most people do not mind having a house that is smaller and/or a car that is cheaper than their neighbours’, as long as they each earn and have more money than their neighbours, and, equally important, their neighbours know that.
Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Convert your time into solutions for the problems of the world and your immediate neighborhood.
Sunday Adelaja
Do not harm your neighbour, who live trustfully near you.
Lailah Gifty Akita
If there is any society where the leaders lack the knowledge and the importance of justice, then oppression will be a common neighbor of the citizens.
Sunday Adelaja
If a city is designed in a way that makes a long drive to work necessary, we harm the social health of that city. If a lot of people cycle, it's probably an indication that you live in a healthy neighborhood. This is something that should be seriously considered in urban planning, if you want to ensure a neighborhood togetherness and trust among locals.
Meik Wiking
