Jack glanced toward the dressing room, not believing that all the time he had been with her, she had been half-naked...

My brothers and I love A Christmas Story. It reminds us of ourselves when we were that age."t"Your father didn't want to give you a BB shotgun because you might shoot your eye out?
Terry Spear
Laurel returned to CJ's bedroom. "Do you want me to remove your clothes?"t"Hell, yeah," he said, and the growly expression immediately vanished.
Terry Spear
Play with fire and you WILL get burned.

Ena wore black because she knew it could stir panic in the hearts of mankind. Black gave the impression of power and authority. Could anyone imagine how Ena could strike terror in the hearts of any person if she was wearing... pink, for instance? Or sunshiny yellow?

He is dangerous," Alton said, his voice rough. She parted her lips to refute his claim. His heated gaze studied her mouth. For a moment, she thought he wanted to kiss her. At the dining table. In front of her brother. Cook, who had just entered the dining hall with a tray full of fresh sourdough rolls. And one human prisoner. For one insane moment, she wanted him to. Kiss her.

Cassie was not a screamer! She didn't scream at football games or on rollercoaster rides or at scary horror movies. Not that rollercoaster rides and scary movies didn't make her want to. But she just controlled the urge. Always. So she didn't even realize that was her screaming at the top of her lungs for a second or two.
Terry Spear
Cassie - She loved reading romances - contemporary stuff. She wasn't into fantasy. No fairytale princess and prince stories. No vampires. No werewolves. No immortal fae.

I forgot that Mark and Brian are gardening for you now.t"You're the master gardener. So you are in charge of them.tBut as a dragon-shifter, I want to do what you do.tEna smiled. You want to earn the kind of treasure that I do. But you would have to learn the trade.tRight! You can be my teacher. I need to earn my own way if I'm going to court you. How will I ever be able to buy you the most extravagant gifts when I am still trying to pay off my boots and other clothes?

Guthrie turned to see who his attacker was. And smiled when he caught her eye.He had the most devilishly wolfish look about him -- a mixture of impending payback with a snowball and something a wee bit more intimate, like a tackle in the snow. But he wouldn't. Not in front of his clansmen. Not when they weren't courting. At least, she hoped not.
Terry Spear
He smiled at her as Julia threw a snowball at Calla that missed her by a mile. Grinning, Calla quickly armed herself and threw one at Julia; only it missed her too and hit Guthrie in the crotch. Good thing it was soft snow. He grinned and wiped off the snow, slowly, deliberately, wolfishly.Calla looked like she could burst into flames, she was so red faced. He started laughing.

Can you handle it?"t"Hell yeah."t"I mean..." Tom glanced around the tavern where pack members filled nearly every chair at the wooden tables. The room was humming with conversation. He leaned forward. "Because of the ghosts."t"That don't exist."t"Right."t"Yeah, I can handle it.
Terry Spear
You need to wear less clothing, lass.
Terry Spear
You can't fault me for ensuring it's in working order... what if I hadn't used it and from this use it had fallen off?
Terry Spear
Dear Elizabeth, you cannot know how much joy you bring to my heart...
Terry Spear
Every bit of you, Lass, that's what I want...
Terry Spear
It is real, Lass.... You are mine as I am yours.
Terry Spear
She is beautiful, soft hair nearly midnight in color, large eyes nearly as dark, and ivory skin like the petals of the lily, and she wore a fragrance of jasmine. But 'tis her willfulness that I enjoyed the most. And her resourcefulness.
Terry Spear
You are sitting in my chair, my lord." She said the words very civilly, she thought. Although he quirked a brow and lowered his chin as if giving her one of those looks. Like really? In a way that wasn't a question. She was telling a fae king, a hawk fae king, and a guest of the dark fae, that he should be sitting in her seat? But she didn't stop there. "You may sit there if it pleases you." She pointed to Micala's seat since he was not at the meal. Her mother's mouth gaped and for once she didn't have an immediate rebuke ready for Ritasia. The king gave Ritasia such a sinister smile, she was afraid she might have gone a little too far with her first encounter with him. She quickly remembered her manners, curtseyed, though, because she wasn't wearing a gown, she thought she looked a little ridiculous, then looked back up at him.

King Tiernan scowled at the mess his father had gotten him into...all because the heartless man had to die. Hawk fae kings were to immediately marry as soon as they were seated on the throne and a suitable bride could be found...Legend had it that the queen always met an early death - ordered by the king himself, although it was said that a secret order of assassins was given the task. Why? Because two sons or a son and a daughter could fight over ruling the kingdom. Civil war could ensue. So best to ensure the queen only had one offspring. And then, she no longer was needed.

You said the demon’s signature is faint. I may be able to heal her if she’s been injured.”“Not in your present state, you said.”She scowled at him. “I won’t let you back into my uncle’s home.”“Then I can’t protect you if the Baltimore demon comes for you.”She folded her arms.Hunter’s jaw tightened. “All right. I’ll call you.” He snorted under his breath. “You’re a Kubiteron and I’m a Matusa. That means you’re to obey me.”“You mean, ‘You, Matusa, me, Kubiteron?’ No way, Tarzan. Go beat on your chest before some other lesser demon.”Jared quickly hid a smile.Hunter’s face turned dark. She gave him a quirky smile, then vanished.

She didn't want to talk about his nonsensical fairy stuff. "That's because you can't take me there. You're not capable of it. Because it doesn't exist.
Terry Spear
I guess I'll wake up tomorrow and find I'm not in Kansas anymore.""You're from Kansas?" Most of Kansas was not a lion fae territory. She'd heard the cobra fae loved to go there, however.
Terry Spear
Oh, sure," Cassie said. "Take me to your faery world. I've always wanted to see Tinker Bell." Not. She'd had to watch the movie when she was a kid because her parents had thought she should enjoy some fantasy stories in her early years. What sane kid wanted to be a child forever? Being older had lots more perks.
Terry Spear
Well, than that solves it. I'm not a faery, so I'll just go back to sleep, and you won't come to see me anymore." It nearly killed her to say it even in a dream."I can't let you go," Micala said, shaking his head. "I can't. And I won't."That's what she wanted to hear.
Terry Spear
Cassie spoke up, "He is like Peter Pan and the Lost Boys." ...Tameron said "No one is lost here. And we have just as many girls, well, maybe not as many as we have boys, but a fair amount. Who is this Peter Pan you speak of? A hero?" he asked Cassie.Alicia spoke up then ... "He led a group of boys in a world of adventure on an island paradise."Tameron looked at Cassie to see if she agreed. She smiled and nodded."This Peter Pan was real?" he asked."No, he was a fairy... uhm, tale," Cassie said.Tameron smiled. "I like the idea. I'll have to read it sometime...

Alicia's sweet friend, Cassie, who never thought of anyone as being a stranger, rushed up to Halloran and kneed him in the groin. The big bad dragon shifter cried out, clutched his crotch, and fell to his knees. Cassie grabbed Alicia's arm and ran with her toward the back of the keep. Alicia glanced over her shoulder and couldn't believe her human friend had dropped the dragon fae.

Do you think I could win?"t"It matter not what I believe. Only what you believe."tMaracose's comment made Brett think of the Jedi master, Yoda, in Star Wars. But he was determined to win and would try, no, not just try, but he think only positively about the outcome. He would survive the trials.

They are here to help pack the gold, mistress. The women wouldn't be able to do it quickly enough , but I reverently ask that you don't tell them I said so. The last time I said anything about Cook's culinary arts, I ate burned food for a week and when I said anything to your lady's maid about how she should do more to help to help you, she put double of starch into my sheets when she ironed them.... She scorched a hole in the sheets at the foot of the bed and my toes got caught in it in the middle of the night.
Terry Spear
She wondered if he thought this was all a lark, a game. She'd been to Disney World once. There the fairies were cute and sweet and didn't attempt to kill the visitors. Living here wasn't anything like the human faerie fairs or theme parks.

Alton shifted so he could talk to the man. He'd been to earth before and watched some of the silly shows, the ones where one cop would play the good guy and the other the bad buy. Ena was definitely the bad dragon in this scenario, her eyes glowing bright green, threatening, a little bit of smoke coming out of her nostrils. She was fire breathing mad.
Terry Spear
For now, he wanted to help Ena escape the dragon fae king's wrath. As soon as Prince Grotto learned what she was about to do in the worst way. The reason she was in this mess was because Brett had helped take Princess Alicia prisoner. As Alicia's reward for saving the Princess, Alicia's grandfather had declared that Ena would wed Alicia's cousin. He was a dangerous dragon fae. Sure Ena would become a Princess if she were to wed Prince Grotto. Brett also knew that the fae intended to use her for her special skills and terminate her when she proved useless. Brett wasn't sure how to help Ena move her gold and staff to somewhere safe. Hopefully, in the Hawk Fae kingdom. They didn't have U-Haul trucks in the fae world. She was a dragon and that meant she wasn't leaving without her horde of treasure.

She kissed him with just as much exuberance, enjoying the feel of his warm, sexy mouth against hers, the caress of his hands on her cheeks, as she stroked his bare back with as much tenderness.
Terry Spear
He meant to go lightly, cautiously, sweetly. First kiss, first date. But she curled her fingers in his hair, pressed her hot little body against his, and kissed him back as if they had been dating for a good long while! As if he wanted him like he wanted her.Now this was more like it.
Terry Spear
I don’t do one-night stands, Tammy. Not my style.”She sighed, sounding exasperated, but she was secretly pleased at his declaration. “I’m…the same way, only things haven’t worked out.”“I understand.” He continued to stroke her hair with one hand, his other arm wrapped around her, holding her to him and showing possessiveness in an affectionate way.She studied him for a moment and saw the sincerity in his expression, then sighed again. “Fine. Then we’re dating now. All right?”He gave her the warmest smile. “You’ve got it.
Terry Spear
As soon as he stood in front of her, she folded her arms and looked cross.t"You don't have any gardening skills. You turned down a prestigious job to weed the garden?t"I will be rewarded richly in treasures untold."tShe raised a brow.t"I've heard dragon-shifters pay a lot of money to merchants and the like.t"Aaagh, but you are also a dragon-shifter of a sort. tYes, but I am a gardener, which means I don't go on high-risk missions to earn my gold.
Terry Spear
Will you return to your home if Prince Grotto's reign is ended?"t"Yes. It is home."t"Will you take me back as your gardener?
Terry Spear
Ena," Brett said.t"Lady Ena, Ryker corrected from the doorway.tBrett smiled. He couldn't imagine her wanted to be called anything but Ena, but he would call her anything that pleased her.tThe sharp look she gave her butler made Brett think calling her Lady Ena was out.tRyker, being his usual unflappable self, just looked at her as if he was in charge and she would go by her new title or else.
Terry Spear
Great! I hope different police officers are here this time." t"Might be, but we're in the same police jurisdiction. I'm certain from the last time you were here, they probably have a record about you. What was it you said? You were playing some game re-enactment the last time you were injured?"t"Yes. How did your brother come up the idea of a paint-ball game? That's a good one."t"He's played them here before. He would like to bring the game back to our world, but we fight for real.
Terry Spear
He can surround a sword with flames." tFreya sounded proud of him. That irritated Ena. He was her prisoner and only she had the right to feel proud of him as far as she was concerned.
Terry Spear
Teach him something useful, will you?"tElorian shook his head. "It is like housebreaking a puppy. There are bound to be lots of accidents and lots of cleanups." tFrustrated beyond measure with the whole situation, her missing staff, an out-of control mage, a frozen mage, and a cursed phantom fae turned raven, Ena couldn't believe the mess they were in.

To those who serve to protect the exotic animals in the rainforest. Thanks for making it possible for so many of them to remain in their natural habitat and for stopping those who are destroying the animals or transporting them from their homes in the wild.
Terry Spear
But if you wake up and are feeling....needy...
Terry Spear
He chuckled. "Come here."tShe hesitated.t"We don't have to do anything. Just ... sleep."tShe let out her breath on a heavy sign. "You don't want to just sleep." Then she moved in next to him, and he wrapped his arms around her. "Do you?"t"Hell no." He leaned down for a kiss.

At dusk in the Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica, Melissa Overton barely heard the constant sound of crickets chirping all around them. Prowling through the dense, tropical rainforest as a jaguar, she listened for the human voices that would clue her in that her prey was nearby.tWaves crashed onto the sandy beaches in the distance as she made her way quietly, like a phantom predator, through the tangle of vines and broad, leafy foliage, searching for any sign of the poachers. Humans wouldn't have a clue as to what she and her kind were when they saw her - apparently nothing other than an ordinary jaguar. And she and her fellow jaguar shifters planned to keep it that way.tHer partner on this mission, JAG agent Huntley Anderson, was nearby, just as wary and observant. The JAG Special Forces Branch, also known as the Golden Claws, was only open to jaguar shifters and served to protect both their shifter kind and their jaguar cousins....
Terry Spear
He tossed her over his shoulder and stalked back to the bedroom.t"What do you think you're doing?"t"I've had enough babysitting duty. It's time for some grownup action.
Terry Spear
No sign of Marissa yet though I heard her clunking around in the bathroom so she was probably doing whatever girls do to make themselves presentable. Poor things. It didn't take any time at all for us guys to rejoin the world and still be our handsome selves.
Terry Spear
I didn't give you a parting kiss." I tried to ignore the audience of witches and concentrate on the kiss. Dominic jumped right in and helped me with a sexy lingering sizzling hot kiss. By the time we broke free, I was sure my cheeks were rose red. For a minute I felt like I might swoon and Dominic held my arm to keep me upright and pressed his lips against my cheek and whispered, "You sure know how to send a guy to the moon, Marissa.
Terry Spear
A human wasn't an acceptable boyfriend for a witch; nor would a human wish to date a witch. The two would never in a million light years be interested in each other. Then, again, unwritten rules were made to be broken.
Terry Spear
I thought he should know the truth.t"Some say that I'm a ... well a ..." I hated to say what others teased me mercilessly about... "A... slow learner."tHe shrugged as if to indicate that it didn't mean anything to him, but seemed anxious about what to say to console me. Finally, he reached out and touched my hand. "Yeah, but they don't have life mates whose destines are written in the stars." I wanted to groan out loud. I was a slow learner and was to be mated with a vampiric human whose old flame wanted me dead. How was this a good thing?
Terry Spear
Go ahead and try. I'll attempt to loosen up. tHer muscles tightened when I took her hand in mine. t"Do you know any self-hypnosis?"t"I guess I'm tensing too much." She took several deep calming breaths then tensed her muscles and relaxed them, repeating the steps several times. The pulse in her wrist slowed to normal. tI nodded, grateful that Marissa was such a treasure despite my initial concern she might be more like the teen witch that had turned me into a frog.
Terry Spear
Nope, not Debby Demint!" His lips curved up while his eyes sparkled with amusement. t"You haven't even seen her. All the guys make fools of themselves over her." t"There's only one who I desire to make a fool of myself over." tWere all vampires as charming as Dominic?
Terry Spear
You have a mother?"tHis mouth quirked with humor.t"Yep, and a father too! Every kid normally has one of each to begin with.tHe was teasing me in an affectionate way...
Terry Spear
Lynetta bared her wickedly sharp pointed canines and hissed. Her long black hair hung wildly to her hips, tangled and teased by the breeze. She was petite like me but as strong as a male body builder. Her grip on Dominic remained iron tight. Her soul-less black eyes, vacant and without a care, really ate away at my heart. I surveyed the yard for any kind of weapon I could use against the vampire. My heart surged when I spied a colorful whirligig attached to a wooden stake embedded in my mother's pampered pansy garden nearby. Without a second's hesitation, I dashed for it and yanked it out. Running at the vampire, I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Death to the blood sucky vampire!" which gave me some courage. It wasn't every day I had to beat one vampire off of another when they didn't even really exist!
Terry Spear
She took his hand, and he smiled down at her. "No mating yet?"t"It depends on how...persuasive you could be."t"Hot damn, woman. I can be persuasive.
Terry Spear
Lori rushed to join him, threw her arms around his waist, and gave him a big, warm hug. And then kissed him full on the mouth.tWhen he came up for air and looked into her smiling face, he smiled right back. "Well, hell, if you had let me know that this was the way I'd be treated as the pack leader, I would have done it a long time ago.
Terry Spear
He set Lori on the bed. "You were the only wolf that chased my tail around, trying to grab hold. No other cub would dare.
Terry Spear
You said...we have a couple of new pack members?" Paul asked.tEveryone but Allan laughed. Allan folded his arms. "This has to be a record for the fast growing lupus garou pack in the West. One little pack of six has increased to twenty-four.
Terry Spear
He yanked off his shift, and she kicked off her sandals. Then she was on her knees on the bed, unfastening his belt and unzipping his zipper. He was already full to bursting. She glanced up at him. "It looks like you're eager to see me."t"Hell, yeah.
Terry Spear
Just the way I like you," she said when he was completely naked.
