Don't retire, rewire and refire
Bernard Kelvin Clive
I cried because sometimes no matter what you try to hide behind— letters or texts or emails or a busy schedule— life still finds a way to barrel through all the distractions. And life still hurts. Even though it's beautiful.
Hannah Brencher
To change the world, a country, an organization, a community, a relationship, begin with the smallest seed of change: begin with yourself. That is what this book is all about.
Gloria Burgess
My parents, and librarians along the way, taught me about the space between words; about the margins, where so many juicy moments of life and spirit and friendship could be found. In a library, you could find miracles and truth and you might find something that would make you laugh so hard that you get shushed, in the friendliest way. There was sanctuary in a library, there is sanctuary now, from the war, from the storms of our family and our own anxious minds. Libraries are like the mountain, or the meadows behind the goat lady’s house: sacred s

If what you do TODAY will define your TOMORROW, then that means the FUTURE is NOW.

Be proactive not reactive, for an apparently insignificant issue ignored today can spawn tomorrow's catastrophe.

One needn't identify as a feminist to participate in the redemptive movement of God for women in the world, The gospel is more than enough. Of course it is! But as long as I know how important maternal health is to Haiti's future, and as long as I know that women are being abused and raped, as long as I know girls are being denied life itself through selective abortion, abandonment, and abuse, as long as brave little girls in Afghanistan are attacked with acid for the crime of going to school, and until being a Christian is synonymous with doing something about these things, you can also call me a feminist.
Sarah Bessey
Write there. In the weak spot of impossibility.
Lysa TerKeurst
Don’t let psychological warfare from an advertisement campaign blind you from the truth of your beauty, possibility, worthiness, and purpose.
Steve Maraboli
Every meaningful success I have accomplished was made possible by love.
Bryant McGill
Every person has something meaningful to say in the conversation of life.
Bryant McGill
Three-Step Method for Making Stronger Connections: Take the Triangle Talk approach to connecting and reaching agreement with others: You, Me, Us. First refer to their interest, then yours - and then note how your interests coincide. This approach enables diverse people to gain traction sooner toward a common goal.
Kare Anderson
Everything that happens now in the online world is part of a conversation. The problem with this (if we can call it a problem) is that this conversation takes place frequently asynchronously and often across platforms.
David Amerland
Conversation is the Best Content.
Ted Rubin
We aren't going to choose paths of wisdom if we don't trust the One who has marked out those paths for us. Fear of the Lord is trust in the Lord

The happy family is a myth for many.

The volume of your voice does not increase the validity of your argument.
Steve Maraboli
Spaciousness gives rise to clarity. Clarity gives rise to inspired action. Inspired action gives rise to fulfilling manifestation. When watching the motion of the clouds in the sky each day is enough for your delight, the rest just flows in and through your life as effortlessly as those clouds. Just as day follows night, action follows rest. Do not be afraid to lie fallow until inspired action moves you.
Indigo Ocean
God doesn't offer his Word as a magic fix-all pill that we can ingest and feel better. Rather, God's Word is the way in which we are invited to encounter the real 'person' of God.
Ken Gire
You are the biggest threat to your emotional and physical health if you don't set aside time for relaxation, joy, and personal growth.
Maddy Malhotra
Rest and repose are as much a part of life’s journeys as seeing all we came to see.
Gina Greenlee
Professional success is only partial success.
Maddy Malhotra
The most influential and frequent voice you hear is your inner-voice. It can work in your favor or against you, depending on what you listen to and act upon.
Maddy Malhotra
Opportunity to suspend disbelief is often why we watch movies. The stories and images touch us and shift perspectives in ways we may not allow in our daily lives. As readily as you check your “this isn’t real” attitude at the ticket counter – when transformers are defending earth against aliens and 21st century vampires frolic by daylight – on the big screen of your heart and mind train for, run and celebrate finishing your first marathon.
Gina Greenlee
- But Abraham, you mean I'm supposed to make stuff up !?!?- You are creators, you make stuff up all the time!
Esther Hicks
How you respond to the enemy of your soul determines whether his plan for your life or God's plan for your life is realized.
Stormie Omartian
I'm here, Satan," he said. "I can't see you, and maybe you can move faster than I can, but I'm still here, and by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit I intend to be a thorn in your side until one of us has had enough!
Frank E. Peretti
To avoid the fall often means living a less-than life.
Emily P. Freeman
Know that transformation sometimes begins with a fall. So never curse the fall.
Yasmin Mogahed
Life is too short to waste time waiting for other people's approval on how you live it.
Steve Maraboli
Keep your negativity to yourself. After watching you poison your own life with your opinions, I would be foolish to let you do the same to mine.
Steve Maraboli
God does not seek the opinions of others about your life.
Bryant McGill
At this very moment you are probably basing your value on how other people value you, even though most of the time, you don’t even know what these people really think. You are assuming what they think based on behavior you interpreted. In truth, most people don’t think about you at all. They are too focused on their own stuff. And if they do think about you, they probably don’t think what you think they think. You are most likely projecting your own fears of not being good enough onto them. What you think they think tells you more about your own opinion of yourself than theirs.
Kimberly Giles
Come out of hiding, don't be afraid to be yourself.
E'yen A. Gardner
When we know Love, fear has no value in our presence. There is no pressure to perform and mask our humanity. We can BE and when we BE. We can inspire others to BE.
E'yen A. Gardner
Don't dilute yourself for any person or any reason. You are enough! Be unapologetically you.
Steve Maraboli
Don't let other people's opinions distort your reality. Be true to yourself. Be bold in pursuing your dreams. Be unapologetically you!
Steve Maraboli
It's simple; be YOU. If you're not being you, you're being someone else. YOU are not here to be someone else.
Steve Maraboli
Life is simple, just be yourself.
E'yen A. Gardner
If you are not yourself, you have nothing to offer the world but a cheap imitation of someone else.
E'yen A. Gardner
Be You! It is so enchanting to see the beauty that radiates from someone freely expressing their uniqueness.
Steve Maraboli
You will need to stay calm as you witness the candy floss in your daughter’s smile harden into brittle bitchiness. You will need to muster a new resolve as your son’s fascination with Pokémon shifts to porn. You will have to recalibrate your mothering instinct to accommodate the notion that not only do your children poop and burp, they also masturbate, drink and smoke. As their bodies, brains and worlds rearrange themselves, you will need to do your own reshuffling. You will come to see that, though you gave them life, they’re the ones who’ve got a life. They’ve got 1700 friends on Facebook. They’ve got YouTube accounts (with hundreds of sub- scribers), endless social arrangements, concerts, Valentine’s Day dances and Halloween parties. What we have – if we’re lucky – is a ‘Thanks for the ride, Mum, don’t call me, I’ll call you,’ as they slam the car door and indicate we can run along now.

When it comes to generating writing material, teenagers are gold. Their world is a narcissistic, anarchic, paranoid hell of anxieties and stresses about how they look; how popular they are or aren’t; and how fast or slowly, big or small their private parts are growing. As an observer, it’s fantastic. Hilarious, at times. Poignant and heartbreaking. It is all the stuff of great human drama because, before your eyes, you get to witness character transformation. Boy grows into man. Girl grows into woman. Writers strain to make this shit up.But – and here’s the catch – we dare not discuss any of this if we want our kids to trust us or ever talk to us again. And that’s because, lifts and pocket money aside, teenagers crave privacy – the need for which hatches both swiftly and silently while we’re sorting out the laundry. It’s as if they suddenly wake up one day creeped out by the thought of all those years we wiped their butts and helped them put on their undies and they go into lock- down. They smoke us out, put up walls, close their doors, shut down their stories, and waft, earphoned, through our homes in a shroud of hormones and appetite. Their lives – in which, until recently, we participated with Too Much Information and gross oversharing – suddenly become ‘none of our business.
Joanne Fedler
Until kids find something worth dying for, they don't have anything worth living for.
Tim Kimmel
There will come a time when a person you most likely pushed out through your vagina and nursed from yournipples, whose bottom you wiped, and whose snot and spit you cleaned up over several sleep-starved years will apprehend you with a mixture of boredom and irritation and say, ‘Get a life, Mum.’This would be a good time to remember that a) violence never solved anything; b) teenagers don’t have a full brain yet – the prefrontal cortex that controls the ability to make important distinctions, like who controls the pocket money, only kicks in around the age of twenty-four; and c) you are, in fact, the adult.
Joanne Fedler
When you are born into bondage you can't see the prison.
Bryant McGill
The worst prison is not made of metal bars. The worst prison is when your internal reality does not match your external reality.

Bryant McGill
I wish for you the wisdom to realize that forgiveness has nothing to do with an apology.
Steve Maraboli
They say you don’t get over someone until you find someone or something better. As humans, we don’t deal well with emptiness. Any empty space must be filled. Immediately. The pain of emptiness is too strong. It compels the victim to fill that place. A single moment with that empty spot causes excruciating pain. That’s why we run from distraction to distraction—and from attachment to attachment.
Yasmin Mogahed
